Vision systems can automate the measurement of many features on a part. However, some parts are difficult to hold, or difficult to align repeatably. Others require multiple setups to check all the dimensions.

The Process

1. Send us your idea, we'll need at least a drawing and the features that need to be inspected. If you have a model that will save us some time as well.
2. We'll review the part and methods of inspection. Then model up a custom plate with fixtures mounted to hold the part and send the quote.
3. Let us know what you think and if you have any concerns or needs, when you like our design we'll make it for you.

Results

We make our plates out of optically clear acrylic with a scratch resistant coating. We also have solutions for shops that can't seem to keep a plate of glass scratch free. You'll be able to receive your fixture, verify it and begin use, drastically reducing down time at your vision system.

​We'll place tapped holes anywhere they are required, leaving windows in the plate or just breadboarding the entire plate. If you want a specific threaded hole let us know. In many cases just having simple shoulder bolts placed for a simple 3,2,1 alignment can have a significant effect on setup times. Combine the breadboarded stage plate with our low profile vise to allow many parts to be aligned quickly on any vision system.

Some vision systems with limited focus range may even benefit from a custom drop base stage plate.
